Kohala's Story

Kohala is a 9-year-old Coton de Tulear that was entrusted to our care through the Final Wish Program after her mom passed away. They were devoted companions, and Kohala stayed by her mom's side through a long battle with cancer.

Kohala is energetic, playful, and enjoys being involved in whatever is happening around her. She loves neighborhood walks, wandering the yard, and especially chasing balls. When she's feeling playful, she happily runs back and forth burning off energy.

That said, Kohala is not an easy or "go with the flow" kind of pup. She has a long history of behavioral challenges, particularly around handling and personal space. Her triggers are not always obvious; she may enjoy affection one moment and react defensively the next.

Kohala is especially sensitive around men and relies heavily on body language and eye contact to communicate her boundaries. Respecting her signals is critical. She shows some separation anxiety and does best with small dogs, coexisting peacefully while standing her ground if pushed.

Kohala needs a very experienced, patient, adult-only home, quiet, structured, and committed to meeting her where she is. She isn't for everyone, but in the right hands, her playful spirit and charm shine through.

Please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org to meet this very special girl.
