Kodiak's Story

Hi, I'm Kodiak! I know my name sounds big and mighty, like the famous Kodiak bears, but the truth is, I'm really just a soft-hearted boy who wants to be close to the people I love!

I'm a 4.5-year-old Great Pyrenees weighing in at 93 pounds, which means there's a whole lot of love packed into this fluffy body. I've been very gentle and sweet with children ages 4 and 6 and enjoy being part of the family, quietly keeping everyone company, and making sure no one ever feels alone!

Some of my favorite things include soft beds, cozy evenings at home, gentle pets, and simply being near my people. If you're sitting down, there's a good chance I'll be nearby, happy just to share the moment with you. I also enjoy going for walks, exploring new places, and joining my family on adventures, but at the end of the day, home is my favorite place to be!

I do well with other dogs, especially calm and easygoing friends who enjoy a peaceful lifestyle as much as I do. Cats are still a mystery to me, so a home without them would be best for now.

I'm house trained, have wonderful manners, and am an absolute joy to have around. I would do best with children over the age of 4 who understand that even gentle giants sometimes appreciate a little quiet time.

More than anything, I'm looking for a family to love with my whole heart. A family to walk beside, rest beside, and grow old beside. I don't need anything fancy. Just kindness, companionship, and a place to belong.

If you've ever wished for a loyal best friend, a gentle soul, and a giant fluffy companion who will love you unconditionally, I might just be your perfect match!

My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Apply to meet me today!

The Asher House's Adoption Policy
The Asher House currently focuses on adoptions within Oregon, Washington, and Idaho so that we can provide post-adoption support to our adopters and animals. If you live in one of these three states and see a dog you’re interested in, please complete our adoption application. As part of our adoption process, we ask for two references and conduct a video home check. If we believe one of our animals could be a good match for you, we’ll schedule a meet-and-greet for everyone in your household, including your current dog(s). This gives everyone an opportunity to meet and helps us determine together whether the adoption is the right fit. Our goal is always to create safe, loving, and successful lifelong matches for our animals and their adopters. All of our adoptable animals are on our website www.theasherhouse.com.
