Koda fka Loki's Story

Meet Koda, fka as Loki. He is a very handsome 65 lb, 18 month old pup. He is being returned due to aggression with his current dog brother in the home, much to the sadness of his family who love him dearly.

Koda's mom says calls him, "Real-Life Emoji Dog, Sir Licks-a-Lot, and the Handsomest Little Goofball This Side of the Treat Jar!" She says he is equal parts sweetness, silliness, and charm. Also, with his adorable pink-and-brown spotted nose, expressive face, and unique markings that resemble little cowboy chaps, Koda easily steals hearts. He loves everyone he meets and believes personal space is entirely optional. A devoted cuddle bug, Koda is happiest snuggled up with his people, sharing kisses, and making them laugh with his goofy personality and "conversations" about why he deserves a share of every meal.

Koda is housebroken, knows sit and stay, walks nicely on a harness and leash, and is excellent at communicating when he needs to go outside. He loves healthy treats like apples, carrots, and frozen bone broth cubes with fish or meat, often turning snack time into a playful game before finally enjoying his prize. He is healthy, up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for heartworm and tick-borne diseases, and is a model patient at the vet.

Koda is a deeply loved dog seeking a home where he can thrive. While he has lived with another dog since puppyhood, he has developed significant resource-guarding behaviors over the past several months, including aggression toward his canine housemate. For Koda's success and safety, he must be placed as the only animal in the home. In return, his future family will gain a loyal, affectionate, hilarious companion who will fill their days with love, laughter, and plenty of kisses.

Loki is looking for a home that has the time to play with and exercise him. And like all dogs, Loki would do best in a home with children 5 and older. If you are interested in adopting him, please submit an on-line adoption application.

Adoption Fee: $500

Adoption Coordinator: Beth

Forever Home Rescue New England is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are a network of foster homes in the South and the New England area.

If you wish to adopt our dogs, please complete an online APPLICATION. You must first be approved by going through our application and screening process.

All dogs are up to date on their shots, dewormed and spayed or neutered.
Vet fees, transport fee and New England quarantine fees ARE INCLUDED in each dog's adoption fee.
Forever Home Rescue makes all of the transportation arrangements.

Forever Home Rescue suggests obedience training for all puppies and dogs.
Any dogs older than pups--even if they are not marked housetrained in their posting---usually housetrain within a day or two, because most are used to living outside in the South and will prefer to do their business outdoors.
Our dogs and pups are best suited for families with children 5 yrs old and up.

Also, please note our open houses which occur most every week at foreverhomerescue.org. You can see when we are open and also which dogs will be at each open house. Dogs marked 'out of town' will not usually be at open houses until they are local.
