Knight's Story

Knight is a 4-year-old, 50-pound Aussie mix who is smarter than you are and smart enough to hide that fact from you. You get to feel like you’re in charge. He gets what he wants. Everyone is happy.

Knight came to us with a shattered back leg that could not be saved and had to be amputated. He now has three legs, but the full original allotment of brains and opinions. He is a sweet boy, does well in a home and has a lovely playful side. A gentle dog friend or an older child who would enjoy being his companion could be an excellent fit. He appreciates fun without being body-slammed by an enthusiastic idiot. He is generally good with dog-savvy cats.

Knight does not need you to train for a triathlon. He does need daily exercise and something for that active mind to work on. Walks, sniffing around his fenced yard, learning things and playing with his people are all on the agenda. Being down a leg has not turned an Aussie mix into a decorative throw pillow. He is also not a giant fan of running stairs, so a home where he can go about his day without repeatedly tackling a flight would suit him nicely.

His wish list is straightforward: a fenced yard, kind people, gentle play and something interesting to do each day. In return, you get a sweet, clever companion who will graciously allow you to believe that all the good ideas were yours.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please apply online, at https://bigfluffydogs.com/dog-adoption/ then email paige@bigfluffydogs.com. Our main website, www.bigfluffydogs.com has more information about us and the rescue process. This dog is in Pennsylvania, but BFDR has established transport networks and foster homes across most of the eastern United States, so this dog can be safely and comfortably transported to approved adopters in your area.

NOTE TO EMAILERS FROM PETFINDER: UNLESS YOU FILL OUT AN APPLICATION, WE DO NOT KNOW YOU OFFICIALLY EXIST. Please be sure to do the application in addition to emailing the coordinator as the application will get a response.

All known information about an individual dog is provided in its listing. We do our best to provide accurate information, but adopters should understand that each home is different and the dog may behave differently in a new home. Dogs are creatures of their environment and you help make the dog what it will be.
