FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOME NEEDED FOR KIWI<br/><br/>Meet Kiwi — an approximately 2-year-old sweet, loyal girl who believes life is best enjoyed with car rides, head scratches, cheeseburgers, and a person to call her own.<br/><br/>After spending several hot August days living on the streets, Kiwi found her way onto a cozy back porch. With temperatures soaring over 100 degrees during the day and barely cooling off at night, it was definitely not the life this girl deserved. Thankfully, that porch belonged to a dog lover who gave Kiwi a safe place to land.<br/>Kiwi quickly became friends with her foster home's male Beagle and male Rottweiler mix. She has also visited homes with cats and other dogs and has done wonderfully. That said, Kiwi is a lady who appreciates a proper introduction. She needs a little time to decompress when entering a new environment and would do best with dogs who aren't immediately in her face. Give her some space, let her get comfortable, and allow her to introduce herself on her own terms — she doesn't appreciate other dogs being all up in her business right away!<br/><br/>Once Kiwi feels comfortable, her wonderful personality shines. She is house trained, knows how to sit, and is working hard on mastering her shake. She's a great listener, incredibly loyal, and happiest when she's near her person.<br/><br/>Kiwi is wonderful with young children and teenagers and loves attention from anyone willing to give her some love. And when her person comes home? Get ready for a big smile and an enthusiastic tail wag!<br/><br/>Kiwi has already been through a lot and is incredibly grateful for her second chance. What she needs now is a foster or foster-to-adopt home where she can decompress, feel safe, and finally experience the love and stability she deserves.<br/><br/>Fostering is made easy with Safe Haven Dog Rescue. We provide all supplies needed for your foster dog, along with veterinary care and vetting at our participating veterinary partners. You provide the safe home, love, and patience — Kiwi will take care of the rest.<br/><br/>If you think you could be Kiwi's person, please reach out to Safe Haven Dog Rescue <br/><br/>Our standard adoption fee is $465. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450.<br/><br/>The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip.<br/><br/>To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household.
