Kiwi Shih Tzu Mix Palatine, IL

Kiwis are small and sweet. Also green and ovoid, but let’s ignore that for now, shall we?

Coming in as a stray off the streets of Chicago, Kiwi was severely matted, kinda like the prickly skin of the kiwi fruit. Now, after a heavy-duty grooming session, she’s got a whole new look. Her foster mom describes this 2 year old Shih Tzu mix as a “happy-go-lucky, adorable fur ball of love.”

Kiwi is soaking in the good life: spending hours sunbathing, then seeking out some serious cuddle time, and gobbling up treats whenever offered. After having to fend for herself, she deserves all the pampering she can get!

This 14 pound snuggle-bug is crate-trained, doesn’t chew inappropriately, walks well on leash, and is doing well with housebreaking. She has occasionally exhibited some resource guarding with her food, but that is probably just left over from being a stray. Kiwi is a fast learner and highly food-motivated.

Kiwi ignores the other dogs in her foster home and would most likely be happiest as the only dog in her new home, given that she wants as much attention as possible. Are you in the market for something small and sweet? Come check out Kiwi. She’s sure to satisfy.
