She'll thrive with someone who appreciates her spunk, gives her the consistency she needs, and loves her fiercely. Once she bonds with you, she'll be loyal for life-and every bit as dazzling as she looks.

---

Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Kitty is a powerful and energetic dog who showed her displeasure through demand barking and body-slamming. She preferred exploring outside to being inside the shelter. During our walk, she started with a looser leash but ended up pulling strongly. It took time for her to settle inside for handling, where she tolerated it but showed sensitivity around her tail and legs, indicating a need for space.

She understands cues like "sit," "down," and "come," and responded well to redirection. However, she was unstable around everyday objects, alternating between wariness and quick recovery.

Kitty's rough play included body-slamming and grabbing at my forearms. She seemed confused or disinterested with toys. Her interactions with strangers were pushy; she would jump up and demand attention, leading to barking if they left. When meeting another dog, she needed a slow introduction, initially feeling uncomfortable but improving as the walk continued.

If interested in a pet at the Lycoming County SPCA, please fill out an adoption application. The application is available on our website: lycomingspca.org. We may require additional steps in our process such as a home visit, permission from parents, or other additional requests. We appreciate your patience as we complete your adoption. Before adding a new member to your family, please consider the following: Many pets live 10 to 15 years. How old will you be? How old will your children be? Is there a chance you could move in the next 10 years? Are you willing to restrict your choice of housing to accommodate a pet? If the pet is for a child are you willing to assume the care of the pet? Children must have parental guidance to care for a pet regardless of their age. Each breed of animal has genetic characteristics that need to be considered. Have you researched the breed that you are interested in? Are you financially prepared for a pet? Consider the following expenses: spaying or neutering, basic veterinary care, flea preventative, heart worm preventative, license, food, grooming.
