Kita is the kind of girl who looks at an available human and thinks, Excellent. A pillow with hands. She loves affection, she loves being close to her people, and she is more than happy to help you tackle those pesky problems like having too much room on the couch and being able to use both arms freely while watching TV. She is generous like that. Unfortunately, Kita is coming back to PPFT through absolutely no fault of her own. Kita was adopted by a family who loved her deeply and fully intended for her to stay forever. But sometimes life takes the carefully written plan, crumples it into a ball, launches it directly into the trash, and replaces it with something no one could have prepared for. Kitas adopter recently learned that her husband is in kidney failure, and their family is now facing a difficult and uncertain road ahead. With so much suddenly changing, they made the heartbreaking decision that they could no longer give Kita the time and attention she deserves. And so, Kita finds herself opening a brand-new chapter. <br/><br/>Now that we've established Kita is a certified sweetheart with a minor in Professional Snuggling, it's time to discuss what actually happens when you bring this girl home. She's fun. She's smart. She's affectionate. And she is currently attending board-and-train, which means she may very well arrive with more formal education than some of us. Kita LOVES other dogs. Her current brothers are her wrestling partners, running buddies, and fellow participants in the highly prestigious sport of Run Around the Yard. A friendly, playful canine companion would be right up her alley. She enjoys having someone who appreciates a good wrestling match and understands that sometimes the only reasonable response to having four functional legs is to use all of them at maximum speed. Cats? Surprisingly, Kita has demonstrated excellent feline diplomacy. She's lived with two cats who have very different management styles. One likes to play, so Kita happily joins in. The other has apparently submitted a formal complaint to HR regarding dogs in general, so Kita wisely keeps her distance. Honestly, reading the room is a skill some humans still haven't mastered. She hasn't been around children, so we don't have enough information to tell you how she would do with them. She can still be startled by unfamiliar sounds when she's out exploring, but working with her trainer has already helped her confidence. Kita can be curious when meeting someone new, but treats and pets tend to speed up the friendship negotiations considerably. <br/><br/>Kita is currently enrolled in a board-and-train program, where she is working on leash manners, kennel training, confidence, and some of life's other important lessons. She already knows sit, stay, come, and lay down, and she's getting better on leash every day. So yes, while you're sitting on the couch Googling whether the laundry can reasonably stay in the dryer for another three days, Kita is out there pursuing higher education. She's smart, eager to learn, and has already made great progress. Her future family will need to continue that work because training isn't a software update you install once and never think about again. Consistency matters, especially with a young dog who is still figuring out exactly how this whole "responsible member of society" thing works.<br/><br/>Kita LOVES being outside. Give this girl a securely fenced yard and she will happily run, play, investigate, patrol, and generally conduct important outdoor business known only to Kita. A yard would be wonderful for her, although an active family committed to regular walks and exercise could also keep her happy. She's an energy level 6/10—active enough to enjoy doing things with you without requiring you to quit your job and become her full-time recreational coordinator. She would love a family who includes her in everyday life. Walks? Absolutely. Yard time? Yes. Adventures? She's getting there. Couch time afterward? Yes please! She loves being outside, running around the yard, playing with other dogs, chasing toys, and—plot twist—she even plays fetch. Yes. A Pyr mix who retrieves something you threw instead of staring at you like, You threw it. Seems like a you problem. We cherish miracles when they happen.<br/><br/>Kita is potty trained, which automatically earns her several hundred bonus points. She hasn't traditionally been kenneled when her family leaves, instead having access to the living room and bedroom, but kennel training is currently part of her professional training program. Kita will bark when someone comes to the door or when she sees people walking by. Kita's perfect family isn't looking for a decorative dog who simply exists beautifully in the corner. She wants to participate. She would thrive with active, loving people who enjoy having their dog genuinely involved in their lives. She'd love room to run, plenty of playtime, affection, adventures as her confidence grows, and possibly a playful canine sibling who understands that wrestling is a perfectly legitimate love language.<br/><br/> Think Kita belongs in your family? Excellent. There is paperwork.<br/><br/>Because unfortunately, commenting "WANT HER!!!" with seventeen heart emojis does not summon Kita to your living room. Neither does tagging your spouse and writing "BABE ." Neither does telling us about the Pyr you had in 1997 who was literally the best dog ever. We love the enthusiasm. Truly.
