Kit - pending's Story

Forever home found

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.
Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home.

My name is Kit. I am 4 years old and weigh 17 pounds. I need a new home because I am a puppy mill survivor. I am being fostered in Kansas City, MO

I love my new life not being in a cage all the time, and I love doing zoomies around the yard. My favorite time of day is morning--I love running around the yard to see if there are any new smells, getting my morning treat and waking up to a happy new day!
I am very smart and inquisitive. I know my foster mom and dad so now I love to run up to my foster mom and pat pat pat her backside until she turns around to notice me. I have learned how to go up and down the stairs now just like the other dogs in my foster home so I'm feeling more like a legit member of the pack. As such, I'm relalizing that life in a home is nice and that I shouldn't make any messes, so I save that for my outside time.
I get along with the other dogs in my foster home. They are nice company, but I don't need them to play or anything as I can entertain myself. That said, I do play posture with my foster sister--she's had some practice doing this, I think, as she has some nice moves!
I am okay with being crated if you have to leave for a bit, but I sure like exploring and being out and about with the family if given the option. I get a little bolder every day, and now I even know how to jump up on the couch by myself. I do love to be a part of things on the couch with everyone.
I need a forever home who will give me a minute to know I can trust you (I warm up quickly and am fine being picked up) and who will help me have all the fun and do all the things I've missed out on so far.

Here's a little more about me:
Housetrained? working on it and doing well
Leash-trained? working on it, but not yet
Rides well in car? yes
Good with other dogs? yes
Good with cats? untested
Good with young children? untested but I am gentle and don't react to loud noises
Good with strangers? yes, but I get a little nervous in a loud barky vet office
Shy or confident? building confidence every day
Barks? only to alert you, but I only have a tiny dog bark like a toy
Apartment qualified? not yet due to not knowing the leash
Any Special needs or Health Issues? none
Adoption Fee? $ 375

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at ''https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.

MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing.

MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive.

If you are Interested in Adoption please complete our online adoption application at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application

Petfinder's form is NOT our application.
