Kit in MO's Story
The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.
Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home.

My name is Kit. I am 4 years old and weigh 17 pounds. I need a new home because I am a puppy mill survivor. I am being fostered in Kansas City, MO

I love my new life ... not being in a cage all the time, and I love doing zoomies around the yard. At first, I headed for the fence but I soon learned to come up to my foster mom and dad for pets and praise and just hanging out together.
I am learning that I kinda like it with these humans in my home and it's kinda nice to sit next to them and be petted. I like couch time. Sometimes I just fall asleep and sometimes I key into the videos we're watching together.

I get along with the other dogs in my foster home, but I am not yet a playmate. They've tried, but I'm still figuring it all out.

I am okay with being crated if you have to leave for a bit, but I sure like exploring and being out and about with the family if given the option. I get a little bolder every day.

I need a forever home who will give me a minute to know I can trust you (I warm up quickly and am fine being picked up) and who will help me have all the fun and do all the things I've missed out on so far.

Here's a little more about me:
Housetrained? working on it and doing well
Leash-trained? working on it, but not yet
Rides well in car? yes
Good with other dogs? yes
Good with cats? not yet tested
Good with young children? not yet tested but I am gentle and don't react to loud noises
Good with strangers? yes, but I get a little nervous in a loud barky vet office
Shy or confident? building confidence every day
Barks? no
Apartment qualified? not yet due to not knowing the leash
Any Special needs or Health Issues? none
Adoption Fee? $ 375

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at ''https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.

MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing.

MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive.

If you are Interested in Adoption please complete our online adoption application at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application

Petfinder's form is NOT our application. We will respond back to you within 72 hours of receiving your application.

Interested in Donating visit https://www.adoptaboston.com/donate
