Kira and her 2 siblings were surrendered to our Alabama shelter partner shortly after their mama and 4 other siblings were sent to another rescue. Their estimated DOB is 12/27/22. They will be medium-sized when fully grown. Their mama was around 50 pounds and looked to be a tan lab mix. We don’t know what their dad was but the puppies appear to be lab/hound/black mouth cur mix. Whatever they are, they are cute as a button and very sweet!

Kira arrived at her southern Maine foster home on April 1st and is available for adoption!

HERE’S WHAT HER FOSTER HAS TO SAY ABOUT HER:
She is a super sweet girl. She loves to play with my other two dogs and takes a cue from them when they have had enough. She is very curious and likes to check things out. She responds well when she is told no and redirected, she also responds to her name. She is very treat motivated so it makes it easy for training. She does great on a leash during walks. She LOVES to greet people and other dogs. She is working on potty training and will whine if we are upstairs when she has to go to the bathroom. She loves to be held and will snuggle up with us at night. She sleeps in her crate through the night and is usually up at 6:15 whining to go outside. I take her out and she goes pee and poop outside.
She has met a cat and was curious but did not go after it. She was just checking it out and trying to smell her.
She is a very smart social dog that loves all things.
