Kip's Story
Kip is a true velcro pup with a heart of gold. While indoor life is clearly a brand-new adventure for him, he loves cuddling on the couch! He is crate-trained and has not had any accidents inside. Currently fostered in Gainesville area, Kip is heartworm positive and the rescue is willing to pay for treatment up to 600 dollars. Our usual treatments range from 500 -700.

He LOVES to meet new people and has a playful energy. He does a good job on leash and is not reactive to other dogs even if they are. When it comes to play, he matches other dogs energy. He is calm around the resident dog who is old and not interested in play, while he wants to play with the young, high energy resident dog. When he gets excited he may jump up on new people, but he’s easy to correct and knows to sit for his attention. While traditional fetch isn't really his thing, he loves a good rope toy! Watching for squirrels and lizards in the yard is his absolute favorite hobby, so this prey drive won't be the best fit for homes with cats.

Because he is food-motivated, working on new commands with him is fun and rewarding. He easily learned commands like "sit", "here", "wait", and "go to your place" (for going to his crate). He is a sensitive soul who thrives on encouragement and soft, positive reinforcement. He learns quickly and just wants to make his humans happy!

Kip will do wonderfully with a dog savvy owner who appreciates his playful side and is willing to be patient with slow introductions to resident dogs as he learns more about house-dog life. Apply to meet him today! 💙
