Meet King. King has been with us a long time, and we just don't understand why! He’s so smart, loves the beach and even loves the ocean. King's one year anniversary at the shelter is coming up on 10/22/23. King has a lot of energy, but so much love to give. He is incredibly intelligent and already knows several commands. He loves to learn and is eager to please. He would do well in an active home and he would LOVE a dog friend (or two) to run around and play with. Once he finds his favorite toy at the playground, he wants to take it back to his kennel. He is so much fun and loves to sit close and be petted.
He recently spent some time in a foster home, and this is what his foster family had to say about him.” Meet King! He’s available for adoption at the Grand Strand Humane Society. They were looking for temporary fosters for all the dogs that live in their outdoor kennels to have a place to hang out for the storm, so I went and picked him up. He was dumped at the shelter as a puppy and has grown up living there. This sweet guy deserves a home of his own. He will take some time adjusting to living in a home, but honestly he’s done a great job the last couple of days being a good house guest. He is crate trained, he is potty trained, he has started working on basic commands at the shelter, he is very smart and willing to please, he would do great in an active home, and the shelter says he’s very dog friendly! He LOVES toys and just runs around the backyard entertaining himself. His worst habit at the moment is that he jumps up on people with full force.”
