Kim's Story

Kim is one of the puppies from the litter found with their mom just after the last big freeze. She started out timid and un socialized and has blossomed into the friendliest, most curious, and playful puppy. She gets along beautifully with the adult dogs in her foster home, and plays hard with her siblings at "reunions" at the adoption center. She has been around cats in her foster home, and is very interested in them but hasn't chased them yet.

Kim is incredibly smart and eager with training- she is 100% house trained with a dog door, and if you don't have one, an eye on her will mean no accidents. She is crate trained, and associates her crate with breakfast (her favorite!) and relaxing when no one wants to play- she even goes in on her own. She already knows simple commands: sit, come, down, and give. She's a good car rider too, just lays down, but needs a boost to climb in.

Kim has a lot of nicknames: Cleo (as in Cleopatra, for her fancy "eyeliner"), Wizard Puppy or Puppy who Lived (see the mystery scar on her forehead?), and Scooby Doo. Her personality will delight you, she's equal parts love bug and rascal, and will be happy to spend every minute with you if you let her.

The person or family who adopts her will be lucky to have such a sweet, happy-go-lucky, smart dog!

Kim is a female Shepherd/Great Dane mix with an estimated date of birth of 12/27/25. As of 4/25, she weighs 36.4 lbs.

ADOPTION FEEs: CASH or CHECK ONLY DOGS $200 ($275 for Puppies) - includes spay/neuter alteration, shots, microchip, medicines and other medical procedures, if necessary. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: Due to the Coronavirus we are suspending out of state adoptions until further notice. Our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months for complete vetting by our Houston veterinarian. We have been inundated with too many applications and, going forward, we will only review applications for people who currently have a dog or who have had a dog where the vet reference is in THE APPLICANT's name. We are unable to respond to email inquiries and requests for updates as we do not have the staff or capacity to handle all the emails/applications we are receiving. We will contact you via email with approvals and/or requests should we need additional information. When we reopen for adoptions it will be by appointment only for pre-approved adopters with good vet references. We will continue to do 3rd and 4th vaccinations for any previously adopted puppies from 10am-12pm on Saturdays at the adoption center. Please follow instructions upon your arrival there.
