The MexiMutt Project is an initiative of Born Again Pit Bull Rescue. Millions of dogs live on the streets in Mexico, and our rescue works at the source through spay/neuter programs, rescue, medical care, and adoption into loving homes.
- Since 2019, we have matched over 500 dogs with loving homes & spayed/neutered over 3,500 dogs in Mexico.
- All of our dogs are currently in foster care in Guadalajara, Mexico. They are listed in Oregon for adoption purposes because our rescue is based there.
- Once an adoption is approved, the dog will fly to Portland, Oregon (PDX). Most dogs arrive within 2-4 weeks after approval, depending on flight availability.

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING? Not 100% yet. As rescues that lived outdoors, they'll need some time to adjust. Most adapt within 1-2 weeks of consistent training.
- The breed listed is our best guess (since they're rescues!)

Kenzie was found wandering the street alone and in heat, but physically she was in good shape, which makes her foster think she may have had a home once. Wherever she came from, she showed up a little unsure of herself and took a bit of time to warm up to her new surroundings.

That shyness didn't last though. "She's the friendliest thing once she gets going," her foster, Mayra, laughs, "but she runs so hard she has little collisions, and if there's a food bowl anywhere in sight, hers or not, she's found it." Kenzie has turned into a dog who greets the day at full speed and hasn't looked back since.

She's got energy to spare, tearing around the yard until she's tired herself out, and an appetite to match. Left to her own devices, she'll polish off anyone's food, cat bowls included, so mealtime works best with her eating on her own. Her enthusiasm sometimes outruns her coordination, which means the occasional comic crash into a wall or a person, all part of her charm.

Kenzie gets along well with other dogs, cats, and kids, and she'd be happiest with an active family who can match her energy and doesn't mind a little structure around dinner time. She's still young, still goofy, and clearly ready to give someone her whole heart, food bowl negotiations included. Is your family ready to keep up with her?

*************************
Ready to apply?
