Hi, my name is Kenzie and I’m one special dog! I was born in December of 2016, am a mixed breed and weigh about 23 kg. I need a special family to adopt me and never rehome me again. Unfortunately I have been rehomed several times. I need a dog savvy adopter and if you have other dogs they need to be well rounded and I will need proper introductions. A first time dog owner is not the right fit for me.

My foster family says I’m very smart, obedient and just the sweetest thing!! I love to be by your side or in your lap which is why they call me a velcro dog! They say I’m an absolute dream in the house. I’m so smart I know which toys are mine and I leave everything else alone, even food! One of the things they brag about me the most is that I ignore and respect the cat! I'm allowed to roam the house free and I don't get into trouble. I love being on the couch with you but sometimes I rest on the floor as it’s cooler. I would also love to sleep in your bed if you will have me. At my foster home I sleep on my dog bed in my foster's bedroom as her bed is too small, I’m fine with that too but trust me, I’m a great snuggler. I know lots of commands like; sit, stay, come, wait, lay down, shake a paw, drop it, my name, search and off etc. I'm learning new ones too like touch and watch. I’m good with kids but maybe older ones would be better for me because of my strength.

Do you have a ball? I love to play ball! Or frisbee! Even soccer, I’m a great goalie! I could play all day but when you say done that’s ok, I listen and will drop the toy by the door. I do like a good game of tug of war too! I usually get my fam to play that inside with me. My foster family thinks an agility class would be awesome for me. I think so too. Ooh and maybe one of those places with a pool I can jump into. I need mental and physical exercise daily but I can chill on the couch with you after, I do love Netflix as long as we can snuggle. I would love a large fenced backyard as well to play with you in! I just love it outside!

Apparently there are just a few things I need to work on. Don’t we all though? I like to pull on a leash and I don’t want to brag but I’m pretty strong. I bark at people on bikes and at strangers. You see I am insecure, but don't hold that against me! I may not listen well around water or when I’m tracking a great smell so best to keep me on a leash. I’m sure some of these will improve with some help and commitment but some of them may not.

Lastly, I do have some anxiety so New Hope is working with a behaviourist and I have been started on some medication. You will have support and a plan to continue working with me. I’ve been through a lot in my short life and my foster family says I really deserve my furever home as I’m so amazing! I need someone who can be committed to me furever and if that’s you please contact New Hope right now. You won’t regret it as I will steal your heart!

Kenzie has been spayed, microchipped, dewormed, current on age appropriate vaccines and has received a health check from a vet. adoption fee is $295.

Disclaimer: in most cases we are guessing the breed mix. These are best guesses on our part. For puppies it can be extremely difficult and we are also guessing on what size they will be.

NEW HOPE DOG RESCUE is not a shelter. Our dogs are placed in loving foster homes. WE NEED FOSTER HOMES TO HELP MORE DOGS - CONTACT US TODAY!!!
Definitions:
Pending - means that we are working through the adoption process with the 1st applicant. We usually don't add the pending until we are pretty sure the adoption will go through (like at the home visit stage)
Adopted - you know!! A happy ending for a homeless dog.
