Kenny's Story

Hi there! I’m Kenny, a 3-year-old, 60-pound Australian Shepherd/Husky mix with a big heart and an even bigger desire to make my people happy! I’m a sweet, friendly guy with medium energy and a personality that makes me easy to love. I’m not the kind of dog who needs a pocket full of treats to get my attention. What really makes my tail wag is hearing that I’m a good boy! I absolutely thrive on praise and encouragement, so if you’re someone who loves cheering on your furry best friend, we’re going to get along wonderfully!

There’s something a little unique about me that I want you to know. At some point in my past, I suffered a pretty bad break that healed in a way that left part of my bone sticking out a little more than normal. It might look a bit unusual, but the good news is that I’ve been evaluated by an orthopedic veterinarian who says no treatment or special care is needed. It doesn’t appear to cause me any pain and I’m just living my life like any other happy dog! I could use a little more practice walking nicely on a leash, but with some patience, consistency and plenty of enthusiastic “good boys,” I know I can make you proud. I have a wonderfully adaptable personality and could fit into just about any loving home. I’m not looking for someone who sees a dog with a past. I’m looking for someone who sees a dog with a beautiful future.

I’m dog friendly, people friendly and can be cat tested upon request! I’ll come fully vetted, neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. My adoption also includes one month of FREE pet insurance plus a Fi Nano Mini GPS tracker with six months of tracking service ($20 activation fee)! I may have a little bump that tells part of my story, but it certainly doesn’t define who I am. What I really want is a family who will love me just the way I am. Could that family be yours?

If interested, please DO NOT submit an inquiry through Petfinder. Fill out the application at the link below.

https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/63adcb00cb896f59b74103d2/6adfab0a119503e2af06d57d

Angie's Dog House's Adoption Policy
Our Adoption Process Our goal is to make the adoption process as smooth as possible while making sure each animal is matched with the right home 1. Submit an Application Complete our adoption application using the link at the bottom of each animal’s bio. Our team will review your application and if approved, someone from the rescue will reach out. PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT AN INQUIRY ON PETFINDER 2. Home Video Once approved, we will ask you to submit a video walkthrough of your home and yard in lieu of an in-person home visit 3. Animals Already in Foster If the animal is currently in a foster home, the foster parent will contact you to answer questions, tell you more about the animal and arrange a meet and greet. Please bring a leash to the meet and greet. If everything goes well and you feel it is the right match, you may complete the adoption and take your new family member home that day 4. Direct Adoptions From Transport Some of our animals travel to Michigan specifically for direct adoption rather than going into a foster home. Because these animals are coming on transport specifically to meet their approved adopter, a direct adoption must be a firm commitment. Please ask any questions and make sure you are comfortable moving forward before committing to a transport animal 5. Finalizing the Adoption To complete the adoption, you will sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Once complete, your new family member is officially yours and can head home with you
