Kela's Story

Kela's journey hasn't been an easy one. She came to us after the Iron Fire, when her family was forced to evacuate. During the evacuation, unexpected medical hardships made the heartbreaking decision to surrender her, the only option. Through it all, Kela has remained the sweet, loving girl she's always been, now she's just waiting for a family to help her write her next chapter.

Kela can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give her a little patience and kindness, and you'll quickly discover a loyal, affectionate companion who loves being close to her people. Once she trusts you, she's all heart.

One of Kela's favorite things in the world is other animals! She absolutely adores her furry friends and has done exceptionally well with cats, making her a wonderful addition to a multi-pet household.

Because she can be a bit sensitive to sudden movements or surprises, we'd recommend a home with children 12 years and older who can respect her space while she continues building confidence.

Like the true Husky she is, Kela thrives when both her mind and body are engaged. If she's under-stimulated, she may look for adventure on her own, so she'll need a family committed to providing structure, consistency, and secure management. Her dream home is one that enjoys biologically fulfilling activities like running, hiking, bikejoring, canicross, or other adventures where she can put her athletic spirit to good use.

Kela is looking for someone willing to invest in her, love her, and include her in life's adventures, true partnership. In return, she'll reward you with unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and the kind of bond that's worth every ounce of patience.

If you're searching for a loving adventure buddy with a gentle heart and are ready to help her continue blossoming, Kela can't wait to meet you.

Ohana Rottweiler Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process includes a formal application, followed by a meet-and-greet to ensure compatibility between the adopter and the dog. If approved, adopters participate in a guided lesson to help prepare them for the dog’s needs and set them up for success. Once finalized, we personally deliver the dog to the adoptive home to ensure a smooth and supported transition. This structured process allows us to prioritize proper placement, responsible ownership, and long-term success for both the dog and the adopter. We welcome all potential adopters and evaluate each application on a case-by-case basis. Our goal is to ensure the best possible match between each dog and their future home, taking into account the dog’s needs, the adopter’s lifestyle, and the long-term success of the placement. We remain open and inclusive while prioritizing responsible and appropriate matches for every animal in our care.
