BOWMANVILLE, ON - Some dogs come into rescue because they've never known stability. Kate's story is different.<br/><br/>Kate was deeply loved by her owner and, by all accounts, was the centre of her world. Sadly, when her owner passed away, Kate suddenly found herself without the person she loved most. She wasn't well known to family or friends, and eventually a compassionate veterinarian reached out after realizing she needed help. They convinced the gentleman caring for her to work with SPIN to find Kate the loving home she deserves, and thankfully, he agreed.<br/><br/>Kate arrived with very little history. Although she was wearing several rabies tags, we couldn't locate a veterinarian who knew her, and the only information we were given was that she was twelve years old.<br/><br/>Of course we welcomed her into SPIN...and we couldn't wait to meet her.<br/><br/>Well...what a surprise she had in store for us!<br/><br/>From the moment we met Kate, we knew something didn't add up. Our veterinarians agreed that she appeared considerably younger than expected, and after her examination, we estimate Kate is closer to nine years old. More importantly, she's everything you could hope for in a companion—gentle, affectionate, curious, easy-going, and simply a joy to be around.
