Katana's Story
Meet Katana!

At just 31⁄2 years old and 20 pounds, Katana is proof that even the toughest chapters can lead to the happiest endings.

This sweet little French Bulldog first entered the care of animal control as a stray, and it quickly became clear that she was desperately in need of medical attention. She was suffering from a life-threatening uterine infection known as pyometra, which required emergency surgery to save her life. After being transferred into our care to recover, Katana has made an incredible comeback and is now healthy, happy, and ready to find the family she's always deserved.

It's evident that Katana spent much of her previous life being bred rather than cherished, but she hasn't let her past define her. She is an affectionate, gentle girl with so much love to give and genuinely enjoys spending time with people. She happily greets new faces, knows a few commands—including "sit" and offering her paw for a handshake—and has a good understanding of house manners. She is crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and has settled beautifully into life as a beloved companion.

Katana does well with other dogs that appreciate her company, but she has made it clear that cats are much more fun to chase than to live with, so a feline-free home will be required. She would also likely do well with respectful, dog-savvy children.

Like all French Bulldogs, Katana is looking for a family experienced with the unique needs of brachycephalic breeds. Her family should understand the importance of protecting her from extreme temperatures, maintaining a healthy weight, and recognizing when it's time to slow down. She is not a dog that should ever be tethered and will require the safety of a securely enclosed yard or avid leash walking.

Katana has survived more than any dog should have to, but she has never stopped believing that people can be kind. Now all she needs is a family that will show her what it truly means to be loved—not for what she could produce, but simply for the wonderful dog she is. If you're ready to give this resilient little girl the forever home she's waited so patiently for, Katana is ready to fill your life with unconditional love.

Katana is:
Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies
Dewormed
Heartworm Tested: Negative
Receiving Heartworm and Flea Prevention
Microchipped
Spayed

ADOPTION FEE: $500

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. We make every effort to evaluate each animal's temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.

While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.

FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS.
