She is a true social butterfly who absolutely loves meeting new people and making new doggy friends. Kasey is the perfect size for all kinds of adventures. She is short and petite, but not so tiny that you have to worry about her being fragile. She is the perfect little adventure buddy who can keep up with outdoor activities, go on neighborhood walks, explore new places, and even be picked up when needed on hikes. She has the best combination of playful energy and a laid-back personality, making her just as happy going on an adventure as she is spending a lazy afternoon cuddled up with her favorite person. She's pretty calm and laid back most of the day, but she never passes up the opportunity to go have some fun. She is best described as an active couch potato because she's happy to lounge around as long as her human wants to, but the minute you want to go outside, go on a fun car ride, or go explore the hiking trails, she's ready to go too. She loves to play fetch with her toys, master a doggy puzzle game, swim in her puppy pool, and play with her doggy friends. One of her favorite activities is playing in the water, especially when her humans bring out the water hose to refill her puppy pool. She gets so excited that she tries to steal the hose so she can run around the yard with it herself. She enjoys going on short leisurely walks around peaceful nature trails, and also on long, adventures hiking and exploring the world around her. Her favorite activity to do right now is going to check out all the Halloween decorations on her walks. She also loves soaking up the sunshine, rolling around in the grass, and chewing on her bones. Her favorite activities involve just being with her humans. She loves her toys, chews, and puzzle games, and can happily entertain herself while you're busy. She would be really happy if she had a monthly BarkBox subscription so she can get new fun toys and chews each month. <br/><br/>Kasey is dog friendly and kid friendly. She hasn't been introduced to cats inside a home yet, but she doesn't mind the outdoor cats that she meets on her daily walks around the neighborhood. She is currently in a foster home with both large and small dogs ranging in age from 6 weeks old to senior age, and she loves them all. She is very gentle with the teeny tiny 2 lb chihuahuas and knows that she can't play rough with them. She will lay on the floor and roll on her back so that they will come up and hop all over her face to play with her. When she's playing with the larger dogs in the home, she will run and play chase, and even play wrestle from time to time. Her playful, friendly demeanor would make her a wonderful addition to a home with another playful dog, though she would also thrive as the center of attention in a home where she gets plenty of love and interaction. If she is the only dog in the home, she would benefit from having frequent play dates with doggy friends or go to doggy day care a couple times a week. She knows proper doggy communication skills and knows how to respect boundaries of the older dogs in her foster home, but would probably be too much for a senior dog who doesn't want to play. When it comes to kids, she loves meeting the neighborhood kids on her daily walks. She will politely walk up to them, ask for pets and give them some little licks on their hands. She would love to have some kids in her forever home to play and cuddle with. Because she gets the zoomies and sometimes isn't cognizant of her surroundings when she's excited, she may accidentally knock over smaller children who may not be as steady on their feet. For that reason, it is recommended that she be in a home with kids 6 and up so that happy wiggle booty doesn't knock any smaller toddlers over. <br/><br/>Kasey is kennel trained, potty trained, and leash trained. She loves to go on walks and gets so excited when she sees her harness that she will stand on her back two feet to let you put it on her. She walks very well on leash and doesn't pull at all. Her foster mom walks her on a waist leash and Kasey will walk beside her most of the walk. When she does get a little ahead, she will check in often by turning around and waiting for her foster mom to catch up. She is not reactive at all to other dogs or people that she sees on her walks. She does just get a little nervous when she hears a loud motorcycle, and will stop walking until it passes by. She currently sleeps in her foster mom's office and switches between the dog beds and chaise lounger. She is not destructive at all and can be trusted to be left out alone. She is happy to sleep in a kennel if her humans prefer that she does, but she would really love to sleep with her forever family in bed at night. She is fully potty trained and will not have an accident in the home. She will communicate she needs to potty by tap dancing by the door, and if you don't notice her by the door, she will bark to let you know she really needs to go out. <br/><br/>Kasey would thrive in a home where she can spend plenty of quality time with her people. She would love to live in a home with a fenced in backyard so that she can have her own doggy pool to play in and a yard to run around in. She loves to run up/down stairs and would do fine living in a home with stairs. She's an outdoorsy gal that loves going on nature trails and hikes where she can sniff around and have open spaces to enjoy the natural scenery, but also enjoys leisurely walks around neighborhoods too. No public dog parks for this sweet girl because who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways. She would thrive in a home with another playful, friendly dog and older kids to cuddle and play with. She's also the type of dog that can be completely happy being the "only child" and getting all her humans' love and affection to herself too. She would thrive in a home filled with affection, fun adventures, and quality time with the people she loves. Kasey is ready to give her whole heart to a family who will love her and give her a fun life full of love and adventure. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. We cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation due to the extensiveness of the transport distance.<br/><br/>The cost to adopt is $550, which includes all age appropriate vaccinations, neuter procedure, microchip, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, health certificate from licensed veterinarian, plus any necessary vet care while in the rescue's care.
