Kane's Story

Grandpa Kane here to say hello :)

My little brother Scooty and I were surrendered to Hope4Paws after our owner passed away unexpectedly. After spending the first ten years of my life with limited socialization I came into the shelter very scared and confused. But who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? I have really come out my shell during my stay here and like to take slow strolls around the play yard while catching some rays. The staff here says that my inability to hear them is not a disability - it only enhances my pawsonality! They always say that I look extra adorable walking in circles and smelling the flowers despite all the noise and chaos around me.

My kennel mom took me into the cat room to visit my brother Scooty and see how he's been doing since I last saw him. He didn't seem to remember me, so I made my rounds to visit the other kitties. And that's when it happened folks - I was minding my business saying hi to one of the other cats when WHAM it came out of nowhere. He slapped me right across the face! Mom was very proud that I didn't escalate anything and instead ran straight to the door to go back to my cage. Since I grew up in a one-dog home, it has been very difficult for me to adjust to life around other dogs. I am searching for an adult home where I am the only dog but am certainly open to living with a feline friend once again.

Don't let this golden opportunity pass you by! Submit an application for me and help me live out my retirement in peace.
