Meet Kane
Meet Kane!
This silly, sweet boy with the best expressions is Kane. Kane is an approx 1 yr old medium sized (35-40 lbs) mix. He possibly has some shepherd and/or lab or maybe beagle in there with those soft triangle ears. Whatever the mix is, it sure came out cute....good work, Mother Nature!
Kane originally found his way to us when he was surrendered to a shelter by his family, although unfortunately there is no information as to why. He did wonderful with us for a few months and then was adopted.
Unfortunately it was not the love match we thought it would be and Kane is back with us on the lookout for his new family, one that is committed to giving him the time and patience he needs to trust them fully and show his silly side we all know.
He is good in a crate and is playful with other dogs. While he has been sweet and friendly with kids he has met at events while with us for now we will only place him in an adult only home, or one with older kids where there is less noise and quick movements that may scare him at first.
Kane is a dog that needs a little time to get to know new people. It really doesn't take him long but in that time just let him come to you, offer treats but make no demands on him and he will be your best friend.
The more people try to force their will on him the more stressed he becomes (same Kane, same). Once you win him over he will love you forever. He gives the best hugs and gentle kisses.
He walks well on a leash and offers really great companionship, whether you are just hanging out together at home, or going on an adventure. He does need some work gaining confidence getting into a car, but once he is in he rides very nicely.
He will still need a family dedicated to training and exercising him and helping him be his best self. We have had him evaluated by a trainer and are willing to cover up to 2 sessions (remote or in person) with them to help him transition into his new home and offer his adopters any support.
Kane is up to date on vet care, including preventatives and is neutered and vaccinated.
