Volunteer favorite big boy Kane is ready and waiting for his forever home! You may remember Kane came to us about a year ago from a high-kill shelter in California. He is approximately four years old and likely spent most of his life as an outdoor dog. He was fortunate enough to go for a little staycation with one of our volunteers recently. She reports: “Kane is a very good dog! This big boy loves to cuddle on the couch and cannot get enough belly rubs. He is mostly well mannered but can sometimes be a lot to handle in a puppylike way. Kane is mouthy when he gets excited but is easily redirected. Since being in a house is new for him, he’s very curious and wants to be in the middle of everything. He may run off with a shoe or swipe something out of the fridge, but he is good about giving things back. He’s a good boy at night, either sleeping on the bed or the floor nearby. Kane is a hungry boy, very food motivated, and needs to learn some manners around people food. Kane is not destructive in the house, though he will destroy toys when he gets excited. He was left alone in the house for several hours without issue. Overall Kane is a big sweetheart who wants to please and just needs some direction. Fun fact – he loves to eat ice cubes!”
Kane will require a strong handler to help him with his leash skills. Since he is so large, he should not be in a home with small children. Additionally, he should be the only pet in the house. His skin issues are still healing and of course SPR will always be available to help any future foster or adopter until he is fully healed.
Kane is going to take a dedicated adopter who wants to be a part of his journey. Are you up for the challenge?
If you can give Kane an indoor forever home, please fill out our online application on our website at http://www.savingpawsrescueaz.com/adoption-form/
We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. We are an all-volunteer organization. It may take a couple of days to process an application and complete reference checks.
Thank you for your interest in saving the life of a dog.
