Kali's Story

Meet Kali!

Kali is a female, French bulldog, who was born June 2023! Kali is officially healthy enough for adoption! 🐾

Kali is a special-needs dog with a condition called tethered cord syndrome. Essentially, her spine is a little too short for her body, which affects the mobility in her back legs. The good news is she is not in any pain and the neurologists do not recommend surgery. She just has a bit of a wonky walk, and honestly it only makes her more adorable.

Because of her condition, Kali is currently incontinent and will need to wear a diaper for now. However, her vets believe she has partial control of her bladder and bowel movements, so there’s a good chance she can make progress with potty training over time.

Kali is also great with other dogs and wonderful with kids. She has a very sweet, gentle personality and truly just wants to be around people and soak up attention.

She is only about 3 and has so much love to give!! Kali has gone through a lot on her little life!

As a result of the tethered chord syndrome, she is incontinent so she will need to wear a diaper at least to start. She is showing signs of being able to partially control her bladder and bowels so there is hope that she will eventually be potty trained, its just a work in progress.

In spite of all this, she is an absolute love bug and loves all people, dogs, and kids. She hasn’t been around any cats but her foster says she can’t imagine her having a problem. She is looking for someone special to adopt her and a plus if you have medical dog experience!

Kali simply needs someone willing to take a chance on her and she’ll absolutely charm you in return. She’s sweet, loving, and full of personality. It will take a special person to welcome her into their home, but she will repay that kindness with so much love.

Kali is being fostered in Richmond, VA. She is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and monthly preventatives. Her adoption fee is $375 and covers the cost of age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, and her spay when age appropriate. We require that all adopters, regardless of the dog’s age, are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership. To apply to adopt Kali, visit www.beaglesandbentleys.org/adopt.

Spay/Neuter Disclosure:
Spay/Neuter will be scheduled when age-appropriate and is covered in the adoption fee. We require adopters to be within a reasonable distance of Richmond or Virginia Beach in order to complete spay/neuter with our approved clinics.

Note: Sending a Petfinder inquiry is not submitting an application. We require a completed adoption application to move forward with adoption.

Beagles and Bentleys has an across-the-board evaluative process that we apply to every application we review that prioritizes our animals in need. We conduct a vet reference check (all resident dogs must be altered/up to date on dhpp/rabies and monthly preventatives) and a virtual home visit call where we discuss the adoption process and see your home.
