Kaiser's Story
The biographical information provided is correct to the best of our knowledge while the animal is in our care or includes what may have been provided by a previous owner. We strive to be honest and accurate, but animals can change their personalities and behavior when they settle into a new home. IDR+ makes no guarantees based on the information we observe and provide.

When is a JRT not a JRT? When it’s Kaiser!

Kaiser is an 8-year-old gentleman who clearly missed the memo about typical Jack Russell energy levels. At a perfect 11 pounds, this middle-aged little guy is all about the relaxed, easygoing life.

He does well with calm, respectful dogs that won’t get in his face and can also live with cats—mostly because he prefers to pretend they don’t exist. Kaiser would do best in a quiet home with adults or older teens who understand his laid-back (and sometimes slightly cranky) personality.

Kaiser enjoys the simple things: curling up in his cozy bed, lounging on the couch with his people, and taking short strolls or relaxing in the yard. He’s not much of a barker unless another dog starts the neighborhood chorus—then he’s happy to chime in.

He’s very easy to handle, too. Baths? He’ll patiently endure them. Nail trims? He may give you the look, but he tolerates them like a polite little gentleman. And one of his best qualities—he appears to be fully housebroken!

Kaiser can startle easily and definitely has a bit of that “cranky old man” charm. While he doesn’t show food aggression, he’s lightning-fast if something tasty hits the floor—so quick hands are a must if you’re competing for snacks!

Despite his quirks, Kaiser is a sweet, loving little guy who truly just wants to be near his people. He may even enjoy being your one-and-only, soaking up all the love he’s been waiting for. And as a bonus—he’s even figured out how to give himself a good back-end scratch!

If you’re looking for a low-key, loyal companion with personality and heart, Kaiser might just be your perfect match.
