Meet Jupiter-4/21/24

JUPITER, affectionately referred to as "Juppy" by his foster mom, is a snuggly, adorable, playful 15 lb young adult (but very puppy-like) Jack Russell terrier/chihuahua mix. He loves playing with toys and can entertain himself but also likes to play (a version of) fetch (he doesn't always bring it back)! JUPITER adores other dogs and his adopter MUST have at least one other friendly, playful doggy companion for him & a FENCED YARD.

JUPITER loves his people and is super affectionate (hope you like doggy kisses!)! He is a little shy at first with new people/situations & scared of loud noises (vehicles/thunderstorms/etc) but is working hard in his foster home to become braver! He is most comfortable in familiar surroundings (his foster home) but recently spent two weeks in a vacation foster home with several other dogs (who he had so much fun playing with & really enjoyed running in the fenced yard), a family of three (including an 11 year old boy who was a little scary to Jupiter, but he warmed up to him), cats (who he was curious about but respectful of) and did great!

JUPITER walks nicely on a leash, especially when accompanied by another dog for extra security and confidence, but can become scared and want to retreat home so requires lots of reassurance. He is working on house-training and doing very well with a consistent routine.

JUPITER is the sweetest boy who deserves the best forever home!

This pet is spayed or neutered in accordance with our strict policy wherein all animals are altered prior to adoption. This pet is de-wormed, current on vaccines, and started on monthly flea/tick preventatives.

Animal Alliance's policy is that we will adopt dogs younger than 1 year old to families with children under 9 years old. We do not adopt dogs 1 year or older to families with children under 9 years old due to the unknown history of adult dogs.

Prior to submitting an application, please see the Animal Alliance Adoption Process for adoption details.

Animal Alliance is not a shelter where all the animals are housed in one location. Animal Alliance is a foster care network and animals are housed in many different locations. If you are interested in adopting a pet, please apply using the online application; applicants who call our phone line will hear a recorded voicemail with this identical message. We adopt many animals each week and meet prospective adopters at various locations so they can meet the animals they are interested in.
