Julep's Story

Meet Julep!

The puppy we watched grow up is looking for her forever home again.

In 2023, Bahama Mama arrived at Lucky Dog Refuge pregnant and gave birth to her final litter of puppies with us. Julep was one of those puppies. We watched her grow, watched her find a family, and in March 2023, Julep and her mom were adopted together. We thought their story had a happy ending.

Sadly, life didn’t work out the way we had hoped, and Julep and Bahama Mama were eventually returned to Lucky Dog Refuge after their owner lost their home.

They came back together, and we were determined to make sure they were both okay. Thankfully, Bahama Mama has since found her forever home.

But Julep is still waiting.

She’s waiting for someone to give her the second chance she deserves. Someone who will understand that bringing a dog home is a commitment for their entire lifetime. Someone who will make sure that, no matter what life brings, Julep will always have a safe place to call home.

Julep is 3 years old, approximately 60 lbs, spayed, and up to date on all appropriate veterinary care. She is dog-friendly, although we have not cat-tested her yet. She loves people and has done wonderfully with everyone she has met.

She’s a happy, bouncy girl who doesn’t quite realize how big she is, so we think kids over 5 would be the best fit. She does great in the car and has been working on her leash skills around Harbor Point.

Julep has already lost the family she thought would be hers forever.

Now we want to find her the family that truly will be.

She deserves a home that sees her as a lifelong commitment — not just for the easy days, but for all of them.

Petfinder inquiries will NOT be seen.
If you think you could be Julep’s forever family, please apply through our direct application:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeU6eaT2iuiVIh1drpbr3DaeINNSs5z9MKV4DwY7SRt4XEUSg/viewform

Lucky Dog Refuge's Adoption Policy
Generally, puppies and adult dogs have an adoption fee of $600; senior dogs have an adoption fee of $350. However some dogs may have a higher adoption fees based on the extent of their training or other factors. We also may have "legacy dogs" whose higher fee help offset the medical costs of some of our emergency cases. Fees are set at the discretion of the rescue. The adoption fees covers only a portion of the expense the rescue spends on the medical care, housing, and transport of each rescue dog; the rest is covered through fundraising efforts. - The first step towards adoption is to complete an adoption application, which can be found online at our website www.LuckyDogRefuge.com, under the “Apply Now” tab or at https://forms.gle/LXKMKSnagxLSad668. - Do NOT use the Petfinder links or email to ask us about our adoptable dog listings - we do not always receive these messages and will not respond to them.
