After he came under our rescue it was apparent Juice had never been loved, cared for, even petted. He didn't understand the power of a connection with humans. He did not make eye contact. Rather, he didn't understand eye contact. He was confused. Lost. Unfocused. Erratic and frantic. He didn't even relate to being petted. It was hard to hold back sadness for this dog who simply was forgotten.<br/><br/>Juice became a project. Every day we worked with Juice and every day we witnessed improvement. He had to learn trust. With that trust he learned patience. With patience he learned obedience. He want from lunging in mid air, snatching the leash right out of one's hand to where he is now, sitting and waiting calmly until the leash attached. Juice was petrified of other dogs when he first came to us. We needed to build his confidence when with other dogs. This was to be accomplished by non-confrontational dogs joining Juice on his daily walks. He can now walk alongside dogs with no fear. Truly, it makes one's heart melt. <br/><br/>Juice is proof that dogs have the genuine heart to become one with humans, sometimes we just need to part the clouds.
