Howdy y’all, I’m Jebadiah. I’m originally from west Tennessee, but live in South Texas now. I’m a VERY handsome lemon and white boy who was found as a stray. I’ve heard whispers of a dog named Judge and his having been a total mess when he was found and taken into PRO; between us, I think he is me! Now all my closest friends call me Jeb. And since then, I’ve been vaccinated, neutered, treated for heartworms and learned a whole lot while living with my foster family.

When I came to South Texas, I didn’t know much of anything. I had the typical ‘dirty kennel dog’ stained fur and was missing hair on my back due to being infested with ticks. My foster family got me cleaned right up. I was introduced to the very LARGE family we have here on the farm. I get along with EVERYONE and let me tell you, there are a lot of us – BIG dogs (3 GSP’s), LITTLE dogs (3 Pomeranians), a HERD of goats, a CLOWDER of cats, horses and then there are neighbor cows that live on the properties that surround us. We even got a new GSP puppy since I’ve been here and well, she’s one of my best pals.

I love running and playing with the other big dogs, we like to swim in the pool too. I’ve become quite the talented swimmer! I love my toys, especially the one with the big ball on a rope! As much as I really like the other dogs, my people are my best friends, so I would do just fine as an only dog too. I do well in the house and I get to sleep in the bed that I have to share with the Pomeranians – they squirm a lot at night so sometimes I prefer to sleep in my own bed on the floor. Either works for me! I’m able to stay without an issues in the mud room while my foster parents are at work. I’m kid and stranger friendly – since summer time, we’ve gotten a lot of visitors and I really love company! We also went on vacation to Kansas. It’s a long haul from South Texas, but I travel well and it was my first experience where all of my training was put to the test and I did EXCELLENT! I was so good roaming through the big open prairie – my foster Mom was super worried and DID NOT want to have to call PRO and say I’d been lost, but foster Dad knew from the get go, I’d do great!

That’s probably because we do a lot of training here at my foster home. I know how to sit, I have a great recall, I heel fabulously on / off leash, and I know whoa. In addition to the basic commands, I’ve been doing some bird dog training and I LOVE IT!!! I have great nose, an amazing point and am getting better with each session being steady to the flush. I respond very well to the e-collar. I would love an active home; a hunting home would be a BIG PLUS! In any case I can’t wait to find my forever home and be an important part of my very own family!

A note from my foster mom: Jeb is a high energy boy, but one of the smartest and sweetest dogs I’ve ever come across. He’s an athlete and snuggle bug all in one dog. There’s almost no home that Jeb wouldn’t be perfect for, but he’d do best with a large fenced yard and an active pooch pal that he could hunt or play with. He does show some soreness in his hips, but we are getting that checked out and developing a medical plan for now and the future. At this time, it’s being managed and doesn’t slow him down one bit. He takes a glucosamine supplement and Adequan; he sleeps on a comfy bed (when it’s not the humans’ bed) which also helps and will come with him when he’s adopted. Someone missed out on an amazing canine partner when they turned Jeb out, this boy is a real GEM!
