Joy in IA's Story

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.
Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home

My name is Joy. I am 7 years old and weigh 17 pounds. I am being fostered in Des Moines, Iowa. Before coming into rescue, I spent my life with a breeder, so many of the things that seem ordinary to other dogs are completely new to me.

I've been with my foster family for a few weeks now, and every day I'm becoming a little braver. My favorite things are cozy blankets, soft dog beds, and curling up on the couch where I can quietly take in the world around me. I'm starting to show interest in toys, but for now, I'm perfectly content just relaxing near my people.

I'm crate trained, but my absolute favorite place to sleep is snuggled up in bed with my humans and foster siblings. Since my foster parents work from home, I've learned that I really enjoy having company nearby, and I'd love a forever family where someone is home most of the time.

I currently live with three other dogs and absolutely adore having canine friends around. A confident, friendly dog in my forever home would help me continue to learn that the world isn't so scary and that being a dog can actually be pretty wonderful.

My perfect family will be patient, gentle, and understanding as I continue discovering all the things I've missed out on. I may not be the kind of dog who runs up to greet you right away, but if you give me time, love, and reassurance, I'll reward you with quiet companionship and a heart full of gratitude.

If you're looking for a sweet, gentle soul to help blossom into the dog she was always meant to be, I might just be your Joy

A few more things about me:
Housetrained?
