Joy's Story

We rescued Joy and her litter mates out of a homeless encampment after their owner sought rescue assistance with them. We kept the litter together and they left mom dog at 6 weeks of age. Puppies will be 8 weeks old on January 11th which would be their go home date. Joy can be visited in her foster home in the meantime.

- Approximate date of birth: 11/15/25

- Possibly Pit Bull/Boxer mix

- 4 pounds on 1/6/26 and likely to be around 50 pounds full grown. We cannot guarantee size at maturity and are only giving a best estimate.

- More active, outgoing, adventurous temperament

We prioritize adoptive homes committed to training and socializing our young, adoptable puppies. Our goal is NOT to get them returned to us as adolescents or adults with no training or socialization. We truly hope that you plan to take your new puppy out to safe environments to gradually expose them to new sights, sounds, smells, people and novel things. We would ask that you please enroll in a puppy manners class and basic obedience before 6 months of age. Young puppies are little sponges for learning and waiting until they are older to socialize and train can impact their temperament as adult dogs.

Please be ready to lose some sleep, as bringing home a new puppy is similar to bringing home a new baby.

Joy will have had two rounds of puppy vaccines and dewormer at the time of adoption. Her adoption fee includes a microchip, spay surgery at our vet between 6 months to 1 year of age and a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Tualatin or Portland.

$450 adoption fee

Fostered in Gresham, Oregon

APPLY TO ADOPT JOY ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG
