Meet Josie, our longest stay and our most overlooked dog. She is a classic case of stigma - black dog syndrome, bully breed label, etc. This poor girl cannot catch a break.<br/><br/>Josie came to us in September of 2025. She is a lively 3 yr old, 35lb, pittie mix with the most loving, loyal, and fun personality. She does need to be an only pet but is eagerly awaiting to be your adventure buddy & couch potato in one.<br/><br/>About Josie:<br/>- Housebroken<br/>- Crate trained<br/>- Know "sit & crate" well and is working on "drop it", "give", "leave it", & "come"<br/>- Excellent walking buddy, but should continue leash & command work.<br/>- Needs continued refinement on her greeting style - gets excited and jumps.<br/><br/>Josie's Love Languages:<br/>Walks & hikes (aka Adventure!)<br/>Loves the beach<br/>Fetch<br/>Benebones & Bully Sticks<br/>Frozen Kongs<br/>Physical Touch (loves to sit on your lap outside and watch over her yard)<br/><br/>!! Project Freedom Ride's Adoption Policy
Steps for potential adopters: 1) apply through our adoption inquiry link. 2) rescue reviews the applications, if the application looks fitting then .. 3) schedule a virtual interview / home check (video via Facebook, Facetime, Zoom, etc) 4) rescue does reference checks (this can come before or after the virtual interview) 5) if rescue approves family ... family will be asked to think about it and get back to the rescue within 24 hours with their answer. We do not like rush decisions which is why we do that. After the 24 hours we will start to review other applicants. 6) once everything has a green light with adoption, rescue will send adoption contract. 7) adopter would complete and sign and pay the adoption fee at that time to finalize and secure spot on next transport.
