Jonathon 's Story
Meet Jonathan (formerly known as Johnny Gill) 🐾✨
Rebranded. Refined. Ready for his forever home.

Jonathan is a 1.5–2-year-old mixed breed gentleman (Jack Russell Terrier / Chihuahua / Beagle, we presume—but he prefers “mystery blend”). Once a stray navigating the streets, he has since traded in survival mode for snuggles, snacks, and self-improvement. In his six months of foster care, Jonathan has truly leveled up.

Now, let’s be clear—Jonathan is not the “life of the party from minute one” type. He’s more of a “sip your drink, observe the room, and warm up strategically” kind of guy. But bring snacks into the equation? You’ll be on his VIP list in no time. Once you’re in, you’re in—he’s affectionate, playful, and full of personality.

Hobbies include:

-Going on walks (while casually working on his leash manners—progress is being made!)
—Snuggling under blankets like a tiny, slightly judgmental burrito
-Window watching… because someone has to keep an eye on the neighborhood
-Accepting treats like the refined gentleman he is

Jonathan has spent time with kids ages 2–17. While he’s made great progress with the younger crowd, he prefers older, more predictable humans who understand that personal space is a thing.

He’s also had a solid social life with other dogs—he loves his foster sister and has made many dog friends. That said, Jonathan believes in quality over quantity when it comes to friendships, so he can be a bit selective. A proper meet-and-greet with any future dog roommates is a must.

House manners? Nearly impeccable.
Jonathan is almost fully potty trained and generally does great—though if you leave a potty pad out, he may politely assume it’s there for a reason.

Jonathan’s dream home includes:

-A patient human (or humans) who appreciate a slow-burn friendship
-A calm environment or older kids
-Continued training and confidence-building (he’s very motivated… especially by snacks)
-Daily walks and cozy downtime
-A securely fenced yard (Jonathan is not interested in apartment life)
-A proper intro if there are other dogs in the home

Jonathan is the kind of dog who makes you earn his trust—but once you do, you get the full package: loyalty, affection, goofiness, and elite-level snuggling.

If you’re looking for a dog with depth, charm, and just the right amount of sass… Jonathan is ready to meet you.

First Step Is To Apply Now
[Apply Now](http://form.jotform.com/underdogca/dog-adoption-application)
For application updates, forwarding requests, or any questions, contact us at adopt@underdogca.com.
