Jonah's Story

Jonah has survived more than any dog should. He was found tied up in a yard with a rope so tight it had become embedded in his neck. It’s possible he has been there his whole life. Thankfully, he and his female companion, along with their six puppies, were rescued and are now safe.

His neck wound has fully healed, his fur is growing back some, and he’s ready for a fresh start. Jonah is currently being fostered in Indianapolis with one of our volunteers who has a pack of huskies. She’s been trying to find him a home in that area for a few months but hasn’t had much luck, so we’re hoping to bring him over our way and help him find the right match.

Jonah is such a sweet, easygoing dog with a great temperament. He’s friendly with other dogs of all sizes, great with kids (his foster has children seven and up living around him), and even does well with cats and small pets. He doesn’t seem to have much of a chase/prey drive at all and has even left rabbits in the yard complete alone, which is a nice surprise for a husky.

He’s house, crate, and leash trained, moderate energy, and well-behaved inside. He enjoys walks, yard time, and a good brushing session, but is also content to relax and follow his person around the house like a quiet shadow. He’s just one of those gentle, affectionate dogs who wants to be near his people and part of daily life. As you’ll see in his pics he doesn’t mind being dressed up in costumes or attending adoption events sporting “adopt me” gear.

Apply to Adopt:
[Copy and paste this link into your browser]
https://airtable.com/appklteyg5w2e0fmu/shrY8RxQc1KxQYCuv

Please Note:
All dogs are adopted through licensed 501(c)(3) foster-based rescue organizations.
