Jona's Story
Meet Jona

Jona is a 6-month-old hound/terrier mix (with maybe a little Lab in there!) weighing about 16 pounds—and she’s packed full of love.

When Jona first arrived at the rescue, she was malnourished and in need of care. In just a short time, she’s made an amazing comeback and is truly blossoming. Now she’s back to doing what puppies do best—running, playing, and soaking up all the affection she can get.

Jona is incredibly sweet and people-focused. Her favorite place? Right in your lap. She’s a champion snuggler and will happily cover you in kisses if you let her. She’s learning how to “just be a puppy” again, and it’s been a joy to watch her personality shine more each day.

Like many dogs with a rough start, Jona can be a little unsure about new or loud noises. But with patience, love, and reassurance, her confidence is growing quickly. She’ll do best in a home that understands she may need a little time to fully settle in.

She’s already doing great with potty training and is eager to keep learning. With consistency and positive guidance, she’s going to make a wonderful, well-rounded companion.

Jona would thrive in a loving home where she can continue to feel safe, build confidence, and—most importantly—stay close to her people.

If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, and resilient little pup who just wants to love and be loved, Jona might be your perfect match.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.

Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.

Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
