He happens to be deaf, but that doesn't slow this sweet boy down one bit-he's adapted beautifully and continues to live life to the fullest.<br/>This food-motivated fella will still let you know (in his own way!) when he smells something cooking. He's a master of the "sad eyes for snacks" routine and will happily follow his nose anywhere food is involved. Please note that to maintain his skin and eye health, he absolutely must be exclusively fed a Prescription food, Science Diet Ultamino. To keep him feeling comfortable and itch-free, he also requires a daily Apoquel pill. Joker is fully potty trained and is experienced in using a doggy door if you have one. He's a smart gentleman!<br/>Joker is a true "velcro dog" who loves nothing more than sitting right in your lap, soaking up attention, and snuggling up to sleep in bed with you at night. He would thrive with a retiree or someone who is home often, but he's also comfortable being left alone when his people need to run errands to support his lifestyle. He makes an excellent couch companion. Plus, car rides are the absolute most fun thing in the world to him! Give him a spot where he can see out the window, and you've got the best road trip co-pilot.<br/>He's gentle with kids and other dogs, though he does have a funny habit of gently "borrowing" other dogs' toys-so his future furry sibling should be okay with sharing. Balls are his absolute favorite toy.<br/>Joker is best suited to life in a one-level home, but don't underestimate him-he's surprisingly skilled at hopping onto couches and chairs for cuddle time. He is currently recovering from bilateral TPLO surgery, and because he also has arthritis, he won't be going on long walks. Instead, he absolutely loves to be chauffeured around town in a wagon or a dog carrier and get little stops to check his pee-mail!<br/>With his gentle nature, loving personality, and signature bulldog charm, Joker Spades is ready to find a patient, affectionate home where he can enjoy his golden years in comfort and love.
