And here is the final senior of the family of 3 surrendered this week from the same home.<br/><br/>Here's Johnny!<br/><br/>Johnny is 11 years young & currently weighs 30.5 pounds. With tiny crooked teef.<br/><br/>That face...he watches with great enthusiasm & is very engaged. <br/>Johnny walks nicely on a leash despite being obese. <br/>But we're thankful after his vet exam he has a healthy heart, no murmurs & no heartworms!<br/><br/>Johnny will need a family dedicated to walks & putting him on a strict diet.<br/>We know he's a senior but he needs to walk....not sit around and become a bowling ball.<br/><br/>He has an opportunity to go into a foster home if we don't get an excellent application pretty quickly.<br/>He needs off of these hard floors even though he has soft beds. His foster is waiting in the wings, a phone call away.<br/><br/>We know the foster will un-spoil him. This will be difficult but for his own good.<br/>We call it "tough love".<br/>Meaning it will be hard not to give in to this adorable man with people food BUT it will be in his best interest and help with a brighter & healthier future.<br/><br/>Johnny knows sit & walks pretty darn good carrying the excessive weight. Getting the weight off will help his hips & knees and overall health.<br/><br/>Most Pugs are fawn colored but Johnny is obviously black & fawn with a grey muzzle.<br/><br/>We hope whoever adopts him sends us updated pictures of his success on his weight-loss journey.<br/>"before and after" pictures. <br/><br/>Again, this family of 3 dogs loosing their home was all due to unfortunate circumstances that had absolutely nothing to do with the 3 dogs. <br/>We'll explain their situation better if you come in interested in any of the 3 dogs:<br/>Johnny the Pug, 11 years old<br/>Sebastian the Lab x, 4 years old<br/>Storm the Lab x, 10 yrs. old (now spayed)<br/><br/>All 3 dogs have amazing personalities and all are well behaved, take treats gently. <br/>Johnny is the smallest living with the 2 larger Lab mixes, female & male.<br/><br/>As stated, the 3 dogs did nothing wrong just caught up living with a "people situation", the 3 dogs were caught in the middle. <br/><br/>Johnny's snort will make you smile, his smile is infectious anyway, we dare you not to fall in love because even though we are strangers to him he immediately took to us.<br/><br/>Ask him to sit and he will because his love for the treat in your hand far exceeds any happier moment in his life.<br/><br/>His adoption fee for senior dogs is $100. <br/>We consider any dog 8 years or older a "senior" on adoptions fees.<br/><br/>VIDEOS galore in comments section will show you his delightful personali<br/><br/>Apply at www.amherstanimalshelter.org/adopt or come share smiles in person on iur Facebook page.
