John's Story

John is a sweet pup that was dumped at a kill shelter in AL. He is a typical puppy that will need training - house training, obedience training and crate training. His fosters have started on some of this, and he is doing very well, but he will need more reinforcement. He is a typical fun puppy that just wants a family to love him. He is good with dogs, cats, kids and used to horses !

We did have a recent scare with John when he had 3 seizures in one day. We aren't sure what happened, but we took him to the emergency vet. They did some tests and it was diagnosed as Idiopathic Epilepsy. It is something that he was born with and there isn't a true cause. He is on medication and there hasn't been a seizure since. The medication is about $20 a month. He will be on it for about 6 months and then we will discuss with the vet if we should wean him off and see if he has any more seizures. He may be on this medication for his lift - but he is currently acting normal, playing, eating and being a typical puppy!

He is available for adoption through Paws Up Pet Rescue

Welcome to PUPR
