Joey's Story

Meet Joey!

Joeys journey hasnt been an easy one, but were hoping the hardest part of his story is behind him and the best is still to come.

Joey is one of five Shih Tzus rescued from a small town north of Austin after their family was suddenly deported. Everything happened so quickly that their family had no opportunity to make arrangements for their beloved pets. The dogs were left behind outside in the yard, where a caring neighbor did their best to provide food and water. Unfortunately, with triple-digit Texas temperatures, they simply werent safe and desperately needed rescue.

It took a village to save this little family. Thanks to the combined efforts of Orphan Annies Neonatal Rescue, Victoria Turner, Mina Davis, and Mini Wonders Adoptions, all five Shih Tzus made it to safety. A foster was found for their sister, while Victoria and Mina helped transport the four boys to Mini Wonders Adoptions.

Now Joey is safe, cared for, and ready for the most important part of his journey—finding his forever home!

Joey is about 2 years old and is Donnys brother. Although the boys grew up together, brotherly love only goes so far! Joey and Donny werent always the best of friends and occasionally got into scuffles, so we believe they will both be much happier finding separate homes where they can each receive the individual love and attention they deserve.

Joey does well with other dogs, but he tends to be more comfortable with female dogs or males who have been neutered for some time. He enjoys people and is ready to discover what life is like when he has a family of his very own.

Joey has already experienced more uncertainty than any little dog should. What he needs now is someone willing to give him a chance—a person who will offer him patience, security, understanding, and plenty of love.

Joey cant change his past, but the right family can completely change his future.

If youre ready to show Joey that being part of a family means being loved, protected, and never left behind, Mini Wonders Adoptions would love to hear from you!
