JoJo in IA's Story

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.
Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home

My name is JoJo. I am 4 years old and I weigh 27 pounds. I need a new home because I was released from a breeder. I am being fostered in Des Moines, IA

I'm a big, beautiful Boston working on losing a few pounds, who enjoys spending my days sunbathing and staring longingly outside. My favorite thing to do is when I can be a "Boston Baked Bean" and lie in the sun, or explore the yard! Some call it frog legs, some call it "sploot", I call it comfortable when I can lay down with my back legs stretched out.

I'm a confident girl who doesnt care for other female dogs but I do just fine with my foster brother. I can be an only dog or have male dog siblings.

I'm learning this new life of a companion dog and I'm really good at it! I love it when you say my name excitedly, I'll put my paws on you, stand up on by back legs, and stare deeply into your eyes, imploring you for belly rubs (my favorite). I love to chew on toys and will cuddle next you on the couch. I can be a little shy when you move your hands quickly to pet me. There are a few things that are still new to me like fast movements but I'll get use to that in no time!

I currently sleep in my kennel but I'm a good girl, I'd probably be just fine without it. In fact, I'm not of fan of going in it at all but I sit in it quietly when I have to. I spend much of my day snoozing and have the cutest stretches and sounds when I wake up. I must have a family that says "stretchhh" each and every time I do it! I will be the best companion, give you the occasional kiss and tell you with my eyes every day how much I love you.

Here's a little more about me:
Housetrained? Working on it and picking it up quickly!
Leash-trained? I pull a little but I'm working on it.
Rides well in car? Yes, wonderfully
Good with other dogs? No female dogs for now
Good with cats? Untested but I show little interest in other animals
Good with young children? Older children would be best right now
Good with strangers? Yes
Shy or confident? Confident
Barks? Rarely
Apartment qualified? As long as I have plenty of time in the grass every day!
Any Special needs or Health Issues? No.
Adoption Fee? $ 375

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at ''https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.

MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing.

MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive.

If you are Interested in Adoption please complete our online adoption application at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application

Petfinder's form is NOT our application.
