JJ came to us from our local Animal Care and Control and has been ready for his next adventure from day one! Estimated to be between 2 and 3 years old, he's at a great age—past the puppy stage but still eager to learn and grow.<br/><br/>JJ already has a few basics down, but he has so much potential to thrive in a home that can provide consistency, positive reinforcement, and continued training. With patience, structure, and love, he's sure to become a loyal and wonderful companion.<br/><br/>JJ is still learning that his crate can be a safe and comfortable place. While he doesn't always feel confident settling in it yet, his foster has been using positive reinforcement to help him build confidence. His future adopter should be prepared to continue this training with patience and consistency.<br/><br/>JJ never met a stranger, whether they have two legs or four! He's a big fan of both dogs and humans and would be happy with a canine sibling or as your one-and-only, as long as he gets plenty of opportunities to make friends along the way. He does get overwhelmed around younger children running around and so he would do best in a home with older or no children.<br/><br/>JJ is currently accepting applications in or within 3 hours of Chicago. He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped and up to date on flea, tick and heartworm prevention.
