Jinx's Story

Hi guys ?? ? Jinx checking in for an update. Our special little guy has been battling a reoccurring UTI which is currently being treated. We have his neuter scheduled for 12/1 and his amazing trainer is helping us with a very temporary foster placement for his recovery. In the meantime, we are starting Jinx on anxiety mediation to help support him. We don’t know any background information on Jinx, but we know he endured very limited social interactions, as he is overwhelmed quite easily.

We will be looking for a special behavioral needs foster in later Dec or early January 2026. A common question: What is a special needs behavioral foster (or foster to adopt)?

? Someone who is very patient, has a genuine interest in dog behavior, someone who will work hand-in-hand with our rescue director and trainer, and/or someone interested in learning to help a dog who suffers from anxiety/lack of socialization. Jinx will not be an “easy” dog.

? Foster or adopter must have a kid free home, and does not plan to have children in the home for the foreseeable future.

? Jinx can be reactive with men (at first). Guys, you will need to be very slow, he will warm up with time and treatos.

? Jinx has shown zero aggression towards other dogs or cats. He IS animal friendly. However, due to his needs, we feel it’s most safe and reasonable for him to be solo dog in the home right now. We do think he would be ok with a calm kitty friend. Jinx has lil t-Rex legs (27lb potato), so he couldn’t jump or catch a cat. He did try to chase the last fosters cat, but lost interest. We work very closely with our trainer and we would assist for transition into any foster placement.

? Once a foster app is approved, initial meet and greets will take place at his training facility in Orlando.

? Jinx is about 27lbs, 2 yrs old, American Bully/bulldog mix. Up to date on shots. Heart worm negative.

We cover ALL costs for fostering. Jinx will have vet appts for follow ups on medical needs. The foster must reside in Central FL/Orlando surrounding areas.

Foster app: https://form.jotform.com/bullyuprescuecrew/foster-application

** Orlando/Central Florida **

Bully Up Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process starts by completing an adoption application so we can obtain more information about you, your family, and other pets in the home. Once the application is approved, we will arrange a meet-and-greet with our companion; you/your family; and family pet, if applicable. If all goes well, we will conduct an on-site or virtual home check, then transition the dog to your home for a 7-10 day (or longer as needed) foster-to-adopt trial period to ensure it's a good fit for your family. During this trial period, Bully Up Rescue provides all needs for our companion including crate, food, leash, medical care, etc. If after the trial period you wish to adopt, you will remit the adoption donation and complete the adoption agreement. Once finalized, we would send you all relevant records for your companion, including vaccines, rabies certification, medical records, and microchip information.
