Jimothy's Story

Introducing BUFFALO's own - Jimothy

Is Jimothy going to win a traditional beauty contest? Probably not. Is he going to win your heart?, Yes! Immediately. Every. Single. Time.

Jimothy is around 61⁄2-year-old, 21-pound Chihuahua mix — mixed with what, exactly, remains one of life's great mysteries. We like to think there may be a little raccoon in there, a bit of hyena, which is fitting because he was named after Jimothy the raccoon. And honestly... look at him. It's totally Jimmy's Doppelgänger.

Jimothy's a little scruffy, a little wonky, occasionally shows off those tiny crooked teeth with that perfect little underbite, and is somehow so adorably ridiculous that you can't help but love him instantly and think he's perfect, just the way he is.

He gives “He has a Great Personality” vibes. And thankfully, he really DOES have a great personality.

This sweet little guy's favorite place in the entire world is wherever you are.

On the couch? Jimothy's there.
In bed? Scoot over.
Sitting in a chair? Surely there's room for 21 pounds of Jimothy.

His number-one hobby is cuddling, closely followed by being near you, staring lovingly at you, and making sure you haven't somehow disappeared in the last 30 seconds.

Jimothy is potty trained, loves his plushies, and even knows “sit” — when Jimothy feels the situation warrants it. He's 61⁄2, after all. He has opinions and rightfully so, he's hitting old man status and soaking it up.

Jimothy isn't looking for anything fancy. He just wants his person, a soft place to land, a collection of plushies, and preferably a permanent spot touching some part of your body. Most importantly he wants to be loved for exactly who he is.

He may not have been blessed in the conventional looks department, but Jimothy was given something better: an absolutely enormous heart.

Come meet him. We can't promise you'll think he's handsome, but we can pretty much guarantee you're going to think he's perfect.

Buffalo Underdogs Rescue's Adoption Policy
After our dogs are listed for adoption, you can apply online for the dog you are interested in meeting. *Buffalo Underdogs Rescue does not operate on a “first come, first served” basis. Our primary concern is that the dogs in our care go to the home that is best suited for them.* The foster parent of the dog will view all of the applications that are submitted for their foster dog. They will select the applicants that seem to be the best fit and call their personal and vet references. If your application appears to be the best fit for their foster dog, they will then contact you to set up a meet and greet at your house. They will also discuss the adoption requirements during this initial call. *Note: All members of the family must be present at the meet and greet.* If all goes well at the meet and greet, and the foster and family feel that this is the best fit, arrangements will be made to complete the adoption. In order to adopt, you must have an appropriately sized collar (or harness, if required), leash and a dog tag with your telephone number.
