Jimmy McNutty... We thought it was a silly name initially, but now that we've rescued him and have gotten to know him better, we think it's a fit.<br/><br/>Mr McNutty is, in fact, a little nutty... He acts like a typical Boston Terrier - always goofy and up to something! He's a mere 33 pounds and not expected to get much bigger and was marked as 10 months old in early July, so he's about a year old.<br/><br/>This dog will keep you laughing and he just loves to play. He was a little scared in the big, scary shelter, but he has really come out of his shell at the Happy Furever farm, and he's shown us his mischievous side that keeps us entertained.<br/><br/>He was an owner surrender at a city shelter that sadly is forced to euthanize healthy animals to make space for new intakes, so we just had to bust him out. The owner's reason for surrendering him, get this, was captured in one word - "unwanted" - can you believe that? Well their loss is somebody else's gain, and this dog will make some lucky new adopter very, very happy. <br/><br/>He loves to run and play with other dogs and people too, but he will also settle down for cuddles, pets, and naps. He just loves to be held and thinks of himself as a lap dog. He's also such a goofball that somehow the Jimmy McNutty name fits. <br/><br/>The suggested adoption fee is high, we agree, but please know this is a donation that will help us rescue the less in-demand dogs that need the help. Boston Terriers are considered a designer dog, and while this guy may not be purebred, he is so darn cute and will be an amazing companion. <br/><br/>NOTE: This dog is located in Texas, but he can be easily adopted from anywhere in the US. You can meet him via video call to see if he's the right fit for you. We can transport him to you via a partner that specializes in rescue pet transport. Sadly, Texas is forced to euthanize about 100,000 animals annually in shelters due to too many animals and not enough demand for pets. Hence we network many adoptable dogs across the country where there is greater adoption demand. Transport costs about $200 depending on your location and a health certificate required for transport across state lines costs about $100. Hence with suggested adoption donation of $1000, it will be about $1,300 to get this dog to you, but trust us, this dog is worth it.
