JIMMY*'s Story

Jimmy came to PACC suffering from severe, untreated Valley Fever. Valley Fever is a fungal infection found in the soil of the desert Southwest. It is not contagious once contracted. Unfortunately, there is currently no vaccine for Valley Fever, and once a dog contracts the infection, it is considered a lifelong diagnosis. Thankfully, treatment is available! Daily antifungal medications, such as Fluconazole, can help fight the infection and manage symptoms. While treatment is not a cure, it can make an incredible difference and help a sick dog regain a happy, healthy quality of life. That’s exactly what we’re hoping for Jimmy. ?? Despite everything he has been through, Jimmy deserves the chance to feel his best and enjoy life. He is looking for a loving home that understands his diagnosis and is committed to continuing his medical care and keeping up with his daily medication. With the right family by his side, Jimmy can continue on his journey from a very sick pup to a happy, thriving companion. He’s already come so far — now he just needs someone willing to be there for the rest of the journey.
