Meet Jewel, a friendly 7-8-year-old dachshund looking for a loving home. She is both potty trained and kennel trained. Jewel enjoys walks, though she can become excited and may twirl and tangle her leash, so she would benefit from some continued leash training.<br/>She gets along well with other dogs but does not do well with cats. Jewel loves attention, especially belly rubs, and happily settles into your lap whenever you sit down.<br/>She can be a bit hesitant around men at first, but with time and space, she gradually warms up. Jewel would do well either as an only dog or in a home with other canine companions. She would make a wonderful companion for someone seeking a sweet and affectionate dog. Let us know if you would like to meet her. <br/><br/><br/>All our dogs are current on vaccinations which include Rabies, Distemper/Parvo and Bordetella. They are spayed and or neutered, have been fecal tested and heartworm tested, and had a dental cleaning if necessary. They are all on heartworm and flea/tick preventative as needed in rescue. They all will have a microchip that will be registered in the adopter's name and is good for a lifetime with no additional fees. <br/><br/>The adoption process is an application, a vet reference, a home inspection, and a lifetime contract. The requested adoption donation for all our dogs is $400.<br/><br/>We do not REQUIRE a fenced in yard (some dogs do not require a fence, if they can walk well on harness and leash. This is decided by what is best for each dog individually.) <br/><br/>We are willing to adopt to out-of-state applicants, but you must travel to the foster home location of your dog which is in Omaha or within a 90-minute drive from the Omaha area to meet and travel home with your dog.
