Jetty's Story

Jetty originally came to AZ Humane as part of a hoarding case with fur so matted that it was shaved. He also had the craziest leg x-rays that ended up being diagnosed as panosteitis - the equivalent of growing pains. He was hurting so bad because he somehow got the worst case of this our vets had ever seen!

Jetty is now well-managed on NSAIDs and it is amazing what a difference they have made. This painful sad puppy has turned into a joyful, playful, happy-go-lucky guy who just loves life! He will need to be on the NSAIDs for a while, but thankfully carprofen is very affordable. He should outgrow this condition when he reaches full maturity - usually by 1.5-2yrs old it's a thing of the past. He has no longterm health concerns, and we even did repeat bloodwork to confirm his initial anemia was gone (it is). He's so healthy!

It's been a few months since he joined us now. His fur is now growing in and we're getting to see how handsome this sweet boy will be when he's full grown. He's still pretty petit at 7-8mos (he was only 16lbs when we got him), so we think he will stay on the smaller side when full grown.

Jetty loves snuggles once he gets to know you, and does great with other dogs large and small. We have not cat tested him, but there's a good chance he would do ok with them too. He hasn't been around kids with us yet, but again it's hard to see him having issues!

Adopt: https://azhuskyrescue.com/adoption-application/
