Jenny's journey began in a kill shelter in Swainsboro, Georgia, where her future looked bleak due to her age and the overcrowded conditions. When she arrived at the shelter, she was heartworm positive, pregnant, and suffering from hip dysplasia. Thankfully, Home for Good Dog Rescue stepped in and saved Jenny's life, giving her a second chance at happiness. Upon rescue, the Veterinarian determined that Jenny did not require surgery to repair her hips as they weren’t causing her any pain.

Despite the challenges she faced, Jenny's spirit remained unbroken. Now, Jenny is a shining example of resilience and the power of love. Jenny's warm and gentle nature makes her an ideal companion for anyone looking to add a furry friend to their family. She adores the company of both humans and other dogs, and her friendly nature would make her a great fit for a household with children. Jenny is also housebroken and extremely smart and food motivated. Given the conditions Jenny originated from, upon rescue, she tested positive for Heartworm disease. Thanks to Home for Good Dog Rescue, Jenny has completed her Heartworm treatment.

It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of affected animals, causing severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs in the body. Mosquitoes are carriers of heartworms and have the ability to infect dogs all year round, especially in the Southeastern portion of the United States and during the summer months.*
