Jellybean's Story

PLEASE NOTE: Our adoptable dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-served basis. We match the right pug with the right family. Please read the complete bio and details below before emailing to begin the prescreening process. Failure to read the bio and meet the adoption requirements may result in no response or a denial. The requirements for each pug are NOT negotiable, so please do not ask.

Name: Jellybean
Age: 4 years old
Sex: Female
Weight: 14.6 lbs.
Altered: Yes
Previous Life: Breeder Release
Good with dogs/cats/kids: Yes, another dog is required/Unknown/Yes
Likes: Chew toys. Very affectionate. She will invade your space if you stop cuddling her. JB is playful - loves to wrestle, play with toys, and talk to you!
Dislikes: She can be skittish to loud noises, and she cowers, lies flat, or hides when someone new walks into the room. She quickly warms up, though! She is wary of cars as they drive down the street when on walks, but she is working on it!
House-trained: Working on it
Crate trained: JB likes her crate. We leave the door open, and we often find her napping in there. She has free rein of the house, though.
Fenced yard required: Yes
Special needs:

Jellybean is a dream! You would never know she lived a life of neglect mere months ago. She is very petite, weighing in just under 15 lbs, and is always starved for affection. JB loves belly rubs and cuddling in your lap. If you stop loving on her, she will paw at you for more attention. She is excellent with children and often sleeps with our elementary-aged kiddos. (Doesn't snore but makes kind of a soft humming/buzzing - so cute!) She enjoys a variety of toys, especially ones she can chew on! She does not really engage with our resident dog by wrestling or chasing. They eat side-by-side and are rather indifferent towards each other. He is a German Shorthair Pointer and used to foster dogs coming in and out of the house, so we cannot speak of her demeanor with all dogs yet.

She can still be quite skittish with loud noises or new people. She will make herself flat on the carpet/floor if you walk in the room unexpectedly or quickly. Sometimes she will seek shelter under the kitchen table if my kids are bouncing balls in the house, but she's easily coaxed out with the promise of cuddles and pets. I have never had a pug that barks, but JB lets you know that your alarm clock is going off, if the doorbell rings, or if there are activities happening across the street!

During the day, she has free rein of the house. We have to keep all the bedroom doors shut because she is still working on potty-training. She is an easy-going pug overall - starter pug, if you will - and is just looking for cuddles!

Are you interested in adopting Jellybean? Please visit our website and review our adoption procedures at: https://www.pugpartners.com/adoption-procedures. Jellybean's minimum adoption donation is $350. Due to the high frequency of applicants, NOT ALL pre-screening emails will be responded to. PPN does not allow pugs to be shipped as cargo. For approved out-of-state adoptions requiring airfare, the pug must fit in an airline-approved carrier that can fit under the seat. Out-of-state adopters must arrange for transport; in some cases, we may have volunteers able to help.
